Konferencia Nová Európa
V súvislosti s historicky prvým predsedníctvom Slovenskej republiky v Rade Európskej únie, medzinárodná konferencia „NOVÁ EURÓPA/NEW EUROPE“ predstavuje intelektuálny príspevok Nadácie profesora Štefana Kassaya k tejto politicky významnej udalosti. Záštitu nad konferenciou prevzal minister zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Slovenskej republiky, Miroslav Lajčák.
Cieľom konferencie „NOVÁ EURÓPA“ je hľadať odpovede na otázky týkajúce sa aktuálnych spoločenských, politických a hospodárskych premien v Európe, v kontexte s ostatným vývojom v Európskej únii ovplyvneným migračnou vlnou, zmenou hospodárskych a sociálnych pomerov, bezpečnostnými rizikami i hrozbou terorizmu na starom kontinente. Konferencia bude zároveň slúžiť ako platforma na výmenu skúseností, názorov a odborných pohľadov účastníkov, najmä z pohľadu krajín Vyšehradskej skupiny, ktorá zdieľa spoločné hodnoty vychádzajúce z historického, kultúrneho, politického i geografického kontextu.
Konferencia na Smolenickom zámku nadväzuje na projekt workshopov a konferencií pod názvom „NEXT EUROPE“ organizovaných Európskou akadémiou vied a umení v Prahe, Ľubľane, Salzburgu, Budapešti, Ríme a v Benátkach. Okruh pozvaných hostí konferencie je zameraný na predstaviteľov vlády, bývalých prezidentov, politikov, diplomatov, akademikov, podnikateľov a predstaviteľov hospodárstva a priemyslu zo strednej Európy.
Conference New Europe
Since 1st July 2016 the Slovak Republic has been chairing the Council of the European Union for the first time in its history. This event emphasises the importance of a professional discussion about the future of Europe and its political and economic ties in the European Union even more. The invited guests of the conference will be the representatives of governments, former presidents, politicians, diplomats, academicians, entrepreneurs and representatives of economy and industry from Central Europe. The conference „New Europe 2016“ will be take place under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák.
The aim of the conference is to look for answers to questions concerning the social, political and economic alterations in Europe in the context of the recent development of the European Union affected by the recent Brexit referendum, immigration wave, changes in the economic and social situation, security risks as well as with the threats of terrorism on the old continent. At the same time, the conference NEW EUROPE 2016 will be an excellent opportunity for exchanging experience, opinions and expert views of the participants, especially from the point of view of the Visegrad Group countries, which share the same values based on the historical, cultural, political and geographic context.
The conference NEW EUROPE 2016 at the Smolenice Castle continues a project of workshops and conferences with the title NEXT EUROPE organised by the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Prague, Ljubljana, Salzburg, Budapest, Rome and Venice. This event will be an excellent professional platform to continue the discussion about the future of Europe which is currently undergoing a turbulent development.
